Fund for Peace Failed States Index 2010
Published today Tuesday 22nd June, the 2010 Foreign Policy/Fund for Peace Failed States Index (FSI) once again places Somalia at No. 1 -- for the third year running. Afghanistan and Iraq have improved little in this year's rankings, despite the presence of tens of thousands of U.S. troops, once again making the top 10. The 2010 Failed States Index ranks 177 states according to 12 social, economic, political, and military indicators based on data from more than 90,000 publicly available sources. A listing of the 60 most vulnerable countries is featured in the July/August 2010 issue of Foreign Policy.

All 177 countries are available on The Fund for Peace website -- and an interactive database and explanatory Country Profiles are available year round as well.
